About the Role
The Assistant Resident Engineer role in Cape Town City Centre requires an experienced professional to support the day-to-day operations of a construction site, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications, while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily site supervision and contract administration
- Monitor construction quality and compliance with drawings and specs
- Conduct site inspections and prepare progress and quality reports
- Support the RE with managing contractor queries and documentation
- Attend site meetings and assist with project coordination
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 25 years construction supervision experience
- Exposure to roads, pipelines, or municipal infrastructure (advantageous)
- Strong reporting, inspection, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced site environment
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering
- ECSA registration (Candidate or Professional) beneficial
