About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Branch Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process transactions daily, reconcile, load payments on internet banking.
  • Manage petty cash, including payment, receipts, and daily processing.
  • Bank excess cash when necessary.
  • Reconcile and prepare CODs for payment submission to finance.
  • Process expenses on Automate & Reconcile all creditors documentation and forward for payment.
  • Ensure all creditors are paid within terms.
  • Follow up on O/S payments with debtors.
  • Send out statements at month end, answer customer queries.
  • Meet with Parts & workshop staff to receive cash account receipts and follow up on queries.
  • Monitor WIPS& Warranty documentation flow, communicate with workshop staff, and meet with them to manage the process.
  • Prepare daily reports for W/S staff and DP.
  • Discuss solutions with W/S manager on a weekly basis to improve productivity.
  • Prepare monthly report, audits, new capex applications, and update asset date file.
  • Reconcile balance sheet GL and continuously follow up on O/S issues to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and budgets.
  • Prepare meeting reports for DP and department managers, attend meetings with them.
  • Manage internal accounts, preparing recons and payment requests for Cape town internal creditors.
  • Bookkeeping and reports of vehicle maintenance plans, prepare invoices for each vehicle on MTP.
  • Prepare sundry invoices for submission to finance.

Requirements

  • BCom Degree in Accounting or similar qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience (in a similar role in Commercial Industry at dealer level advantageous).
  • Proven experience handling recruitment processes.
  • Code 8 licence.
