About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager – Short-Term Insurance to manage and grow our established broker portfolio in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of personal and commercial lines products, underwriting principles, and profitable business growth. You will act as the key link between brokers and internal operational teams, ensuring exceptional service delivery, profitable growth, and strong long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established broker portfolio across the Pretoria region
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities
  • Act as the key link between brokers and internal operational teams
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery, profitable growth, and strong long-term partnerships
  • Drive growth of commercial and personal lines business
  • Manage broker relationships and support
  • Perform portfolio performance management and reporting
  • Provide product training and broker engagement
  • Resolve complaints and collaborate on operational matters
  • Achieve premium sales and profitability targets

Requirements

  • Solid commercial short-term insurance experience
  • Strong understanding of personal and commercial lines products
  • Knowledge of underwriting principles and profitable business growth
  • Experience working within the short-term insurance sales environment
  • Strong awareness of industry trends, competitor offerings, and broker dynamics

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 RE5 completed (essential)
  • Proof of FSCA registration / DOFA date (essential)
  • NQF Level 4 Short-Term Insurance qualification (required)
  • NQF Level 5 or higher advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years commercial insurance experience (advantageous)
  • TIAL/System A experience advantageous
  • Valid drivers license essential
