Cape Town City Centre: SACPCMP Registered Construction Manager (6-month renewable contract position)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified SACPCMP Registered Construction Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre on a 6-month renewable contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all on-site construction activities from project initiation through to completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, contractual requirements, and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities from project initiation through to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, contractual requirements, and building regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare regular progress reports for management and clients.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets required standards.
  • Manage project schedules, labour resources, plant, and materials efficiently.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, architects, and local authorities.
  • Control site costs and assist with budget management.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input where necessary.
  • Ensure proper site documentation, record keeping, and reporting are maintained.

Requirements

  • SACPCMP registration as a Professional Construction Manager (PrCM) or Professional Construction Project Manager (PrCPM).
  • National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction management within commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
