About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Real Estate Manager to lead our retail space acquisition and leasing efforts in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through strategic location selection, negotiating favourable lease terms, and structuring complex real estate deals. Key Responsibilities
- Retail Space Acquisition & Leasing
- Lead negotiations for retail leases, renewals, and store expansions across Africa
- Identify and secure high-potential retail locations aligned to business growth strategy
- Deal Structuring & Negotiations
- Structure and conclude complex real estate deals in line with business objectives
- Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, developers, and brokers
- Market Research & Site Selection
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify new opportunities and emerging markets
- Assess demographics, foot traffic, competitor positioning, and accessibility
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting
- Develop financial models to assess deal feasibility and ROI
- Monitor rent-to-revenue ratios and overall property performance
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements
- Identify and mitigate risks related to leases and market conditions
Requirements
- Proven experience in real estate management or a related field (minimum 5 years)
- Strong understanding of the retail sector and local market trends
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CCMA, CFA) an asset
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: R800 000 – R1 200 000 per annum, depending on experience.
