Cape Town City Centre: UAT Specialist (API‑Focused | Agile Delivery)

About the Role

Our client operates in a complex, high-transaction technology environment and is seeking a hands-on UAT Specialist to join an Agile delivery team. This role sits at the intersection of business, QA, and technology, requiring a strong focus on API-driven systems. The ideal candidate will take ownership of UAT planning and execution, working closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure features are production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate system-to-system integrations
  • Confirm data integrity across platforms
  • Ensure business rules are correctly implemented from backend services through to the UI
  • Create and execute manual test cases linked to user stories and business rules
  • Log and track defects using tools such as Jira, Quality Center or similar
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a UAT or software testing environment
  • Strong experience testing API-based systems (REST / service integrations)
  • Ability to validate system-to-system interactions and data accuracy across platforms
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (Waterfall exposure beneficial)

Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • ISTQB/Certified Test Analyst (advantageous, not mandatory)
