About the Role
The Warehouse Manager position is a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and yard, while maintaining strict health and safety compliance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team and overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations to drive asset integrity and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize previous warehouse management experience to direct all stock control, packaging, and yard operations.
- Review and sign off on all receiving and returns paperwork and maintain container and pallet records.
- Manage service, repairs, and maintenance for forklifts, vehicles, and the general building.
- Oversee stock counts and generate movement reports to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Manage warehouse personnel through performance monitoring, training, and enforcement of HSE policies.
- Order and issue Personal Protective Equipment and monitor consistent usage across departments.
- Execute ad hoc requests from branch or top management to support business interests.
- Apply chemical industry knowledge to manage resources and warehouse space effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum Matric certificate.
- Previous warehouse management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
- High level of numerical accuracy and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain assertive and solution-focused under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience with Pastel or similar ERP systems (advantageous).
- Knowledge of the chemical industry (highly advantageous).
