Job Description
PKF Cape Town is looking for a Data Architect and Developer to help build an internal, ERP-style platform on our Microsoft stack. This role will play a key role in creating a single source of truth for the firm by improving data flows, modernising processes and developing integrated solutions with Power Platform, Azure and Microsoft 365.
This position sits within the IT Department and reports to the Head of IT. This role will also help establish development standards, strengthen data governance and ensure security and DLP controls are built into every design.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years professional experience in data architecture, data engineering, or system development.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong SQL skills and experience with API integrations/API Management.
- Solid data modelling ability
- Comfortable with REST, JSON, OData, ETL/ELT
- Ability to design secure, high integrity data systems and support data governance
- Strong communication, documentation and problem solving skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, but will not be limited to:
- Design and maintain firm wide data architecture and unified data models.
- Build conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Support data governance, data integrity and security practices across systems.
- Develop integrations using API Management, custom connectors and modern integration patterns.
- Optimise system performance, data quality and security.
- Manage Power Platform environments, solutions, security roles, ALM processes and DLP policies.
- Implement DevOps practices including Git based ALM and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with the Head of Innovation on development of internal audit tools.
- Integrate audit related data into firm wide systems.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and support user testing, adoption and change management.
- Work with 3rd party technology partners
