About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Team Leader to join our prestigious 5-star hotel and wine estate in Constantia, Cape Town. As a leader who takes pride in immaculate standards and genuinely cares about the guest experience, you will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department and ensuring luxury cleanliness standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping attendants across assigned floors and public areas
  • Conduct daily spot checks of guest rooms, corridors and public areas to ensure luxury cleanliness standards are met
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor team progress throughout the shift
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to housekeeping attendants
  • Follow up on VIP room setups and special guest requests
  • Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, reporting shortages promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of room statuses, maintenance issues and shift handovers
  • Ensure team compliance with safety, hygiene and chemical handling protocols
  • Report maintenance issues and safety hazards promptly
  • Step in to assist across departments during busy periods or staff shortages

Requirements

  • Grade 12 essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a housekeeping department of a luxury hotel environment
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience advantageous
  • Proficiency in hotel management software advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and high personal standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Reliable; punctual and professional
  • Stable work history with contactable references
