The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering, we are seeking an experienced Material Handling Assistant who will be responsible to provide support and assistance to the Materials Handling Manager, for the safe and efficient movement, storage, handling, and control of raw materials, components, finished goods, and consumables within the manufacturing or warehouse environment. The role supports production continuity, inventory accuracy, housekeeping standards, and safe operational practices and will assist with the following tasks : Load, unload, move, and store materials using appropriate handling equipment. Deliver materials to production areas according to production schedules and requirements. Assist with receiving incoming goods and verifying quantities against delivery documentation. Transfer finished goods to designated storage or dispatch areas. Ensure correct identification and labelling of materials. Assist with stock counts and cycle counts. Report stock shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies. Maintain accurate bin locations and material traceability. Support FIFO (First In First Out) stock rotation practices. Assist with inventory transactions and documentation where required. Prepare materials for production orders or customer dispatch. Assist with packing, wrapping, and palletizing goods. Ensure workstations and storage areas remain clean and organized. Support continuous improvement initiatives within stores and logistics functions. Follow company health and safety procedures at all times. Operate material handling equipment safely and responsibly. Wear required PPE and maintain a safe working environment. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or damaged equipment immediately. Adhere to quality procedures and ISO requirements where applicable. Qualifications and Experience Required: Grade 12 / Matric certificate preferred. N4 Mechanical Engineering Certification (advantageous) 3-5 years experience in a warehouse, stores and manufacturing environment (non-negotiable). Experience with material handling and stock control (non-negotiable). Microsoft Office proficiency Working experience with ERP and MRP software systems High level of understanding of engineering components High level of understanding of engineering drawings CAD , DXF etc. Valid forklift license.
