Cape Town Region: Warehouse & Inventory Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Warehouse Management ● Accurate and timeous forecasting of materials required for production to meet their targets while maintaining quality. ● Oversee and manage the entire dry goods inventory including customers, ensuring accuracy, optimization, and alignment with production demands. ● Oversee and be accountable for procurement of all materials, consumables and utilities required for production. ● Develop, refine, and implement robust processes for the efficient management of dry goods inventory and seamless allocation to the production team. ● Customer Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with customers to understand their specific dry goods requirements, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring a proactive approach to inventory replenishment. ● Collaboration with Production Team: Work closely with the production team, understanding their requirements, and implementing allocation strategies to support seamless and efficient packaging operations. ● Manage warehouse logistics and team from correct storage to upliftment preparation ensuring 100% accuracy and timeous delivery. ● Optimize the warehouse layout to facilitate efficient movement of goods, minimize handling, and maximize storage space. ● Overseeing the proper disposal or waste materials in an environmentally responsible and compliant manner. Inventory Management ● Maintaining optimal stock levels: This involves balancing the need to have enough materials meet production and customer demand while maintaining positive cash flow. ● Initiating and being accountable for weekly and monthly inventory counts ● Match Purchase Orders with stock items received. Report and investigate discrepancies ● ERP Management: Initiating and being accountable for weekly and monthly inventory counts ● Accountable for stock rotation and maintaining the first in first out stock rotation method. ● Controlling inventory cost by minimizing costs associated with inventory, including purchasing costs, storage costs, waste, and losses due to damage or theft. ● Supporting production efficiency: A smooth flow of materials to the production line is essential to avoid delays and downtime. ● Reporting: Confirm Finished Goods stock from Secondary Production. ● Monitor stock and price fluctuations on dry goods procured and. report any irregularity in prices to Finance. Operational Efficiency: ● Attain profitability through reduction of COGS, War on Waste (WOW) and Efficient without compromising quality. ● Can and dry goods waste allocation and usage monitoring – Daily Reviews, root cause analysis and actions ● Optimize warehouse and inventory processes for efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. Team Leadership: ● Champion the Tiny Keg Way of Customer Success through focus improvement, visual management & teamwork, performance & process control. Quality management and other best work practice to be introduced in time ( Manufacturing Excellence Programme) ● Flag bearer for Tiny Keg Values of Trust, Learning, Flexibility and Partnerships. ● Manage, train, and motivate the warehouse team to achieve high performance. ● Handle conflict resolution and performance management with support of Human Resources team. ● Effective allocation of daily tasks and targets to team and shift leaders ● Ensure that effective shift handover rituals are in place and upheld by your management team , encouraging effective cascading information and seamless production flow and accurate reporting on productivity ● Ensure warehouse data is recorded accurately and timeously by your team ● Hold team accountable for poor performance in line with company values and code of conduct Customer Focus: ● Champion problem solving and learning culture and engage proactively and positively in communication with customers. ● Proactively communicating and escalating any issues encountered on the production line which will impact customer expectations and job delivery timelines Quality ● Build great working relationships and cultivate an environment of trust, partnership and collaboration with the quality team. ● Manage order and cleanliness of the facility / equipment to the HACCP & FSSC standards. ● To drive a culture of continuous quality improvement, minimizing defects, maximizing efficiency, and exceeding customer quality expectations. ● Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and efficiently with Quality team. ● Engage in problem solving techniques to assist with root cause analysis of quality issues. ● Escalate Non-conformance to Quality team ● Champion GMP house keeping practices to ensure organised work environment and reduce waste. Health & Safety: ● Ensure the warehouse team is fully compliant on all health and safety policies and procedures are effectively implemented and followed ● Support OHS team to ensure a safe working environment ● Empower the warehouse team to actively identify and report safety risks
