About the Role
Hire Resolve is excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled Solar Service Technician to join our client’s team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to service requests, accurately diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections and maintenance of solar thermal and HVAC systems.
- Perform repairs, replacements, and system upgrades following best practices.
- Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment longevity.
- Document all maintenance activities, including system condition, repairs performed, and materials used.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with other departments for efficient service delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company quality standards.
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working order.
- Assist with installation projects as needed.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical certification in solar thermal systems or HVAC systems is an advantage.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician in solar thermal or HVAC maintenance.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar thermal systems, HVAC technologies, and related equipment.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues and solve problems quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
- Familiarity with hydraulic layouts, plumbing, and electrical systems used in hot water generation and space heating/cooling.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
