About the Role

The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for managing and ensuring full tax compliance for clients in accordance with the requirements of the South African Revenue Service (SARS). The role involves submitting tax returns, handling SARS queries, monitoring deadlines, and providing general tax administration support to the firm and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit: Individual Income Tax Returns (ITR12)
  • Provisional Tax Returns (IRP6)
  • Corporate Income Tax Returns (ITR14)
  • VAT Returns (VAT201)
  • Trusts and Non-Profit Tax Returns
  • PAYE/EMP201 & EMP501 reconciliations
  • Monitor and manage tax deadlines to avoid penalties and interest
  • Statements of assets and liabilities, capital reconciliations and tax computations

Requirements

  • Qualification in taxation
  • Registered Tax Practitioner (advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation
  • Experience working on SARS e-Filing
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
