About the Role

We are seeking an Executive Head – Brand to lead and drive Rand Mutual Admin Services’ (RMA) brand and communication strategy, ensuring alignment with its positioning as a trusted social insurer. The role is responsible for enhancing RMA’s reputation, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and ensuring consistent, impactful communication across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and champion RMA’s brand architecture and corporate identity at board and executive committee level
• Lead corporate communication strategy across all stakeholder groups, including both internal and external stakeholder relationship management
• Act as chief spokesperson and custodian of RMA’s reputation, managing media, crisis communication, and thought leadership
• Advise the CEO, Exco, and Board on brand and communication risks, opportunities, and strategic positioning
• Ensure compliance with regulatory communication standards and governance frameworks
• Build and lead a high-performing Brand & Communication department, embedding a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence
• Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, customer trust, and societal impact
• Strengthen RMA’s influence within the insurance industry and broader social protection ecosystem

Requirements

• Honours Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Leadership, or equivalent
• MBA or Executive Leadership Programme is advantageous
• 15 years experience in brand and communication, with at least 3 years experience in a strategic leadership role
• Proven track record in insurance/financial services, with exposure to social insurance and regulatory environments
