Job Description
Overview:
The Export Sales Representative is responsible for the overall growth and success of the companys export sales and marketing efforts. The position is responsible for developing and executing export strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners. The position reports to the Business Development Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Marketing or sales related qualification
- 5+ years of experience in similar role (incl. exporting)
- Experience with sales into Africa
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales and marketing strategies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow export sales and market share
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns and promotions to drive sales and brand awareness
- Monitor and analyse market trends and competition to inform product development and pricing strategies
- Studying the market in the target country or countries
- Identifying new markets for exports and developing new business accounts
- Planning a sales campaign suited to that country and current consumer trends
- Planning and reviewing sales forecasts and potential new product ranges
- Meet regularly with existing and new clients to support and grow sales volume
- Provide leadership and guidance to the planning and logistics teams to ensure that customers receive their appropriate shipments
- Attend international tradeshows
- Knowledge of the export business to ensure that government policies, labelling systems, transportation and payment laws are followed, manage administration, such as orders and export documents
- Ensure compliance with all relevant export regulations and laws
- Respond promptly to customer complaints including solutions and troubleshooting to sort out any problems
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on export sales and marketing performance to senior management.
Growth of existing Customers:
- The successful introduction of new products to existing customers.
- Increase penetration on new product introductions whilst maintaining and growing market share on existing product ranges.
Sales Management:
- Increase market share whilst protecting existing share.
- Achievement of company sales targets.
- Identify new Business opportunities both product and customer.
- On-Board an agreed number of New Customers per month (E.g., Fitment Centre, Aftermarket Customer, Transporter, Second Hand Dealer, Government etc.)
- The completion of 2 Accessories Focus Sessions every month.
- The participation and attendance of 3 Dealer / Customer Marketing initiatives every quarter.
Administration:
- Updated business opportunities to be documented and communicated at all times.
- New customers to be captured into CRM / Sales Mobility platform.
- Capturing Customer Visit data into CRM / Sales Mobility platform immediately.
- Proper, efficient and effective use of the CRM / Sales Mobility platform used at the company, which includes relevant customer feedback.
- Efficient, Effective, Quality reporting on all sales and marketing aspects of the business that will include competitor activity and information.
- Professional and relevant written communications between company and customer.
- Effective management of the company’s owned products at dealerships which includes but is not limited to: demo bars, display stands, posters, pull up banners.
- Work closely with marketing to ensure updated and relevant information and marketing materials are provided to customers
