About the Role

Our client is a leading manufacturer and importer of premium refrigerated and heated display cabinets for South Africa’s major retail brands. We are seeking a skilled Installation Technician based in Johannesburg to lead the on-site positioning, assembly, and commissioning of our display systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Installation: Position, level, and mechanically assemble refrigerated and heated display cabinets at major retail stores.
  • Technical Integration: Multiplex individual cabinet sections, run drainage lines, and prepare units for final refrigeration piping and electrical connections.
  • Snagging & Quality Control: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical or structural installation defects before handover.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act regulations and retail site-specific safety protocols.
  • Client Liaison: Represent Concord Retail Solutions professionally on-site, communicating progress clearly to retail store managers and project coordinators.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience installing commercial refrigeration equipment or supermarket display cabinets.
  • Education: Matric
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical layout drawings, multiplexing cabinets, and using specialized hand/power tools.
  • Drivers License: Valid Code 8 (B) drivers license is essential.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical labour, heavy lifting, and extended periods of standing.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and travel extensively across Gauteng and neighbouring provinces to match retail construction schedules.
