Durban: Production Foreman

Job Description

Production Foreman Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal Employment Type: Permanent An established manufacturing and recycling operation is seeking an experienced Production Foreman to support the management of production processes, supervise teams, ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, and drive operational efficiency. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with strong supervisory experience in a production or industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Production & Supervision Supervise daily production activities and ensure targets are achieved. Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Train, guide, and support production staff. Conduct trials and gather production data. Maintain accurate production and furnace activity records. Support other shift foremen when required. Ensure flux requirements are accurately calculated and issued. Monitor and maintain baghouse cleaning and lime dosing processes. SHEQ Compliance Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards. Promote best practices in health, safety, environment, and quality. Participate in shift meetings and training sessions. Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the work area. Reporting & Administration Compile and submit daily production reports. Monitor equipment performance and report variances. Prepare and analyse metallurgical samples. Assist with inventory-related activities and production administration. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Previous experience as a Foreman, Supervisor, or Manager in a production/manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Knowledge of health and safety standards and hazardous material handling. Computer literacy. Valid driver’s licence. Reliable, trustworthy, and well-organised. Must be medically fit. Advantageous Experience Experience in metallurgy or non-ferrous metals. Forklift licence. Own reliable transport.
