About the Role

We are a leading multinational provider of factory and process automation solutions, serving industries including automotive, pharmaceuticals, electronics, food and beverage, chemicals, and manufacturing. We are seeking a Sales Engineer based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, to join our growing team. As a key member of our sales engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and developing long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive geographic and industrial sales development and identify new business opportunities within the automation sector.
  • Manage complex sales processes, develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, and deliver professional sales presentations to customers.
  • Support key account development by collaborating with leadership to establish and implement account strategies and plans.
  • Develop the technical expertise required to conduct preliminary technical discussions and presentations with customers.
  • Manage existing customer accounts while generating new business through prospecting, lead follow-up, and effective territory management.
  • Prepare quotations, maintain CRM records, and submit regular territory and sales reports.
  • Plan and conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and increase market visibility.
  • Review customer engagement activities and sales progress with management on a weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and responsibly within a small team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related qualification.
