About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Durban branch and drive business growth and profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of service technicians, overseeing administration and process control, stock and inventory management, customer and commercial management, and financial leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Operations Management Lead and manage a team of service technicians
- Plan and allocate workloads effectively
- Develop and implement technician training plans
- Build a sustainable pipeline of technical talent
- Administration & Process Control Oversee all branch administration related to: Maintenance contracts Payable service work Ensure accuracy and efficiency of the workflow: Technician Admin Customer / System Review and approve administrative reporting Maintain strong process discipline and compliance
- Stock & Inventory Management Ensure accurate control of parts and inventory Maintain agreed minimum stock levels Oversee replenishment processes and stock accuracy Manage the stores function to prevent losses and downtime
- Customer & Commercial Management Build and maintain strong customer relationships Drive customer satisfaction and service quality Identify and grow new business opportunities within the service division Collaborate with sales to ensure seamless service support Leverage service delivery quality to support equipment/unit sales
- Financial & Business Leadership Manage the branch as a profit centre Take accountability for: Profitability Cost control Revenue growth Implement strategies to turn around and improve performance (branch currently loss-making) Track key financial and operational KPIs
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience managing a technical service branch or profit centre
- Strong commercial acumen (costing, margins, profitability)
- Proven leadership of technical/service teams
- Experience in after-sales/service environments (preferred)
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
Salary & Benefits
Base Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 per month (depending on experience)
Car Allowance: R5,000 per month
Fuel Card Performance Bonus: Based on branch profitability
Provident Fund: 7% (compulsory)
Medical Aid: 50% company contribution (up to R2,500/month)
