Bakery Manager required for a new Retail food store based in East London
Job Overview:
As the Bakery Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the bakery department. Your role is crucial in ensuring the production and delivery of high-quality baked goods while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a profitable bakery section.
Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Operational Management:
- Supervise and coordinate bakery staff activities.
- Ensure the bakery department operates efficiently and meets quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain stock.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of baked goods to ensure freshness and quality.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor bakery staff.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere in the bakery section.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the bakery area.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implement quality control procedures to guarantee the freshness and quality of all baked products.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage bakery department budgets and financial performance.
- Analyze sales data and adjust strategies to meet sales targets.
- Control costs by managing waste and optimizing inventory.
Product Development:
- Develop and introduce new products and recipes to attract and retain customers.
- Monitor market trends and adjust offerings to meet customer preferences.
Compliance:
- Ensure all bakery operations comply with relevant regulations and policies.
- Maintain accurate records related to bakery operations and inventory.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional culinary or management qualifications are a plus.
- Food Handling or Safety Certification is highly desirable.
- 3 years proven experience in a bakery or food production environment, with previous management experience.
- Experience in retail or grocery store is essential.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and financial tracking.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and health and safety regulations.
