We are a leading and well-established manufacturing company operating within the agricultural and grain milling sector. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a dynamic, resilient, and results-driven Senior Sales Representative to join our Marketing and Sales department.

Role Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to solicit business on behalf of the company within the Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential customers, negotiating contracts, developing innovative sales strategies, managing customer stock levels, and resolving client queries. You will act as the crucial link between our production capabilities and our clients’ needs, driving revenue growth while projecting a premium brand image.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Sales Effectiveness:

  • Drive and increase revenue by actively selling commodities, products, services, and business solutions to clients.

  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to proactively identify and capitalize on new opportunities for generating sales.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and the business regarding product specifications, stock levels, and related operational concerns.

  • Compile and present accurate reports on the effectiveness of sales strategies, marketing plans, and ongoing projects.

Customer Relationship & Brand Management:

  • Project and uphold the desired corporate brand image to the public, clients, and other key industry stakeholders.

  • Build, maintain, and nurture robust professional relationships with key accounts to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.

Compliance, Quality, and Safety:

  • Ensure strict compliance with internal quality policies, procedures, and Food Safety Standards (ISO 22000).

  • Maintain personal hygiene and ensure a clean, uncluttered, and hazard-free work environment.

  • Participate in and comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) activities and actively report any unsafe conditions.

General Administration & Team Support:

  • Work collaboratively with internal staff across departments, supporting colleagues to achieve departmental goals.

  • Ensure continuous self-development in alignment with business and industry needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric / NQF Level 4). A Marketing, Sales, or Business-related Degree/Diploma will be highly advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in sales, business development, or marketing, specifically dealing with commodities.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working specifically within the Maize/Grain Milling industry.

  • A valid drivers license and reliable own transport are mandatory. Willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory is required.

Core Competencies & Technical Skills

  • Excellent understanding of Milling Production Processes and Quality/Food Safety regulations (specifically ISO 22000).

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint. Excellent knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) principles.

  • Strong business development acumen, critical thinking with high attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and the resilience to cope with high-pressure environments.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, reliable, highly organized, and capable of working seamlessly within a team while driving independent results.
