Eastern Cape: Work Shop Assistant posted by Staff Solutions

Job Description

General Duties:

  • Assist with various disassembly/assembly tasks under Technician supervision.
  • Preparation of Parts for Assembly: Typically includes buffing, grinding, wire brushing and tapping.
  • Pre-Cleaning of assemblies/components
  • Post-Cleaning of assemblies/components
  • Preservation of parts or equipment
  • Operating forklift/OHC – Assembly/component movement on site
  • Any general labour duties as may arise from time to time including housekeeping duties.
  • Boxing/Crating of Customer equipment/parts

QUALIFICATIONS:  Grade 10 (Standard 8)
EXPERIENCE: Previous forklift driving experience is essential, general power tool use would be beneficial
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Operating Forklift (Essential), knowledge of safe operations of basic hand and power tools; Manufacturing and / or heavy engineering experience is beneficial.
