About the Role
We are seeking an experienced GC-MS & QC Administrator in our Fragrances department at PAR EXCELLANCE, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our fragrances and aroma compounds. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for matching fragrances, sourcing molecules, and maintaining high-quality standards according to ISO 9001:2015.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fragrance and other samples using solvent extraction techniques such as SPME arrow
- Identify different substances in test samples and analyse them using GC-MS
- Interpret quantification of fragrances with relevant software on PC and provide an analytical report on the fragrances made in the laboratory
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of fragrance ingredients and components within the market, keep a detailed library, and add new fragrance ingredients/components to library accordingly
- Analyse samples, perform maintenance and troubleshooting, develop analytical methods as necessary and identify opportunities to improve runtime and quality
- Responsible for instrumentation, general and advance maint and performance and trend monitoring of the instructions carried out
Requirements
- BSc Chemistry degree
- 4+ years of experience as a GC-MS Operator and Quality Controller in fragrances manufacturing/compounding/aroma compounds/(flavours) and the application thereof in the perfume/cosmetic/toiletry/household chemical industries
Qualifications
- Formal education in Chemistry (BSc)
