About the Role
Our client is a division of a JSE listed conglomerate, specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of electrical products across South Africa and beyond. With growth accelerating and operations expanding, they’re looking for a technically strong Group Financial Manager to lead the financial engine behind the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function, including reporting, consolidations, budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare and review monthly management packs and year-end reporting
- Analyse financial performance and recommend strategic improvements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations and statutory requirements
- Implement and strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks
- Review journals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage treasury activities, banking profiles and cash management
- Drive cost control, operational efficiencies and financial modelling initiatives
- Support automation and systems implementation projects (e.g. PowerBI, consolidation tools)
- Assist the CFO with project analysis, planning, and strategic finance initiatives
Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA)
- Minimum 5+ years’ post-articles experience in financial management, group accounting, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African financial reporting regulations
- Proven experience in group consolidations, financial analysis and cost control
- Solid knowledge of income tax and deferred tax
- Experience with share-based payment accounting
- Understanding of hedging instruments (FECs)
- Knowledge of VAT, imports, exports and statutory compliance
