Job Description

Requirements

Inspect incoming materials, inprocess work, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications
Conduct dimensional checks, visual inspections, and quality audits
Review engineering drawings, QC plans, and specifications
Document findings, nonconformances, and corrective actions
Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues
Maintain records of inspections, calibration certificates, and quality reports
Assist in implementing and maintaining quality management systems (ISO 9001 advantageous)
Ensure adherence to company standards, safety regulations, and client requirements
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements

+- 7 years experience in quality control within an engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong understanding of inspection methods, tolerances, and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and reporting skills

Advantageous Skills

Experience in mechanical or structural fabrication QC
Knowledge of welding processes and standards (e.g., AWS, ISO, SANS)
Exposure to ISO 9001 systems or internal auditing
Experience creating or working with Quality Control Plans (QCPs), ITPs, and checklists
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) basics
