About the Role
The Internal Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organisation by providing expert accounting services and ensuring compliance with financial legislation and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the accounting process through to trial balance
- Preparing customised financial and management reports
- Supervising the recording of entries relating to assets, liabilities, and capital accounts
- Maintaining accurate audit documentation and supporting audit processes
- Analysing financial information and recommending appropriate financial actions
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls
- Supporting and coordinating accounting clerical staff activities
- Investigating and reconciling financial discrepancies
- Safeguarding financial information through strict adherence to internal controls
- Overseeing payments through verification of supporting documentation and authorisation processes
- Ensuring compliance with financial legislation and regulatory requirements
- Conducting trend and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making
Requirements
- Minimum BCom Accounting or related qualification
- Relevant degree with completed articles
- 35 years’ accounting experience within the service industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working across multiple brands or entities
- Advanced reporting and financial analysis skills
- Ability to present financial information at Executive Committee (EXCO) level
