Gravelotte: Hospitality Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Hospitality Manager to join our team at Gravelotte, located within the Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve, just north of Hoedspruit in Limpopo, South Africa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless daily experiences across three distinct settings, while maintaining the hallmark of a luxurious safari experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support three camp managers
• Ensure smooth daily operations across all camps
• Align camp performance with company standards and guest expectations
• Oversee housekeeping, food & beverage, guest services, and maintenance
• Conduct regular site inspections and operational audits
• Implement and monitor safety, compliance, and sustainability protocols
• Manage budgets, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting
• Oversee stock take, procurement, and supplier relations
• Ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality
• Handle escalated guest concerns and ensure satisfaction
• Drive innovation in guest offerings and experiences
• Mentor camp managers and foster team growth
• Conduct training, performance reviews, and succession planning
• Promote a positive, professional work culture
• Collaborate with senior management on long-term planning
• Contribute to marketing, guest relations, and brand positioning

Requirements

• Solid background in hospitality or lodge operations
• Previous experience in luxury lodge or safari operations
• Proven leadership in multi-site management
• Strong financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, stock management)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to mentor and develop camp managers and staff
• Operational problem-solving and decision-making under pressure

Qualifications

• Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
