About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Knitting Manager to lead our daily knitting production operations, ensuring output targets are met while implementing Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textile production/manufacturing and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily knitting production operations to ensure output targets are met
- Supervise and coordinate production teams within the knitting department
- Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement practices
- Monitor production quality and ensure compliance with company standards
- Reduce waste and improve efficiency across all production processes
- Manage machine utilisation and production scheduling
- Ensure effective communication between production, maintenance and quality teams
- Train, develop and motivate staff to improve performance
- Monitor production reports and implement corrective actions where needed
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within the factory
Requirements
Matric Qualification in Production Management, Operations Management or related field (advantageous)
5 Years of experience in textile production/manufacturing
Strong knowledge of 5S and Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing principles
Strong understanding of knitting machinery and production processes
Experience with production planning, scheduling and workflow optimisation
Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment
Computer literate (MS Office and production systems)
Valid drivers license plus own reliable vehicle
