About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Nature Guide to join our luxury boutique reserve in Hermanus, Overberg Coastal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for sharing your expertise on the unique fynbos, birdlife, and marine ecosystems within our private protected biosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead guided nature walks and tours to guests, providing in-depth knowledge of fynbos, birdlife, and marine ecosystems.
- Develop and implement educational programs to promote conservation awareness and appreciation for these ecosystems.
- Collaborate with the reserve’s management team to develop and maintain interpretive materials and displays.
- Participate in conservation efforts, including habitat restoration and species monitoring.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a memorable experience for our guests.
Requirements
- Experience & knowledge of Overberg Birdlife, Fynbos & plant life, Marine & ecosystems.
- Physically fit & healthy with at least 5 years’ experience as a guide.
- Minimum CATHSSETA Nature Site Guide (NQF2) / FGASA Nature Guide (NQF2) or higher qualification.
- Up-to-date Registration with the National Department of Tourism (NDT).
- Valid South African driver’s license WITH (PDP).
