Irene: Project Manager / Engineering Manager (12-Month Contract)

Job Description

Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years experience in Project Management and/or Engineering Management roles. Strong EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) background. Proven experience managing large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects, Valid Drivers License and willingness to travel between sites (Irene, Centurion, Sandton), Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage multiple project streams simultaneously, Strong understanding of project governance, engineering standards, and delivery frameworks, Roles and Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timelines. Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required. Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements. Engineering Management Oversee engineering design, development, and implementation across project phases. Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure integration across disciplines. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project lifecycle EPCM Coordination Manage EPCM processes including procurement, contractor coordination, and construction oversight. Ensure alignment between engineering design and construction execution. Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment. Stakeholder & Client Engagement Act as primary point of contact for project stakeholders. Facilitate meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions. Provide regular project updates, reports, and risk assessments. Risk, Quality & Compliance Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and engineering best practices. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
