About the Role
Our client in the Construction Industry is seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Accountant to join their team on a three-month contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare tax calculations, tax reconciliations and tax returns
• Prepare group reporting templates and requirements
• Review group monthly balance sheet recons and prepare reporting packs
• Prepare, review, and submit monthly / quarterly financial consolidated reports and reconciliation required thereof
• Assist and review divisional monthly management accounts for reasonability
• Plan, manage and execute monthly and year end reporting duties successfully
• Assist in preparing consolidated financial presentation for Executive Committee, Board meetings
• Complete quarterly reports for Statistics SA & SA Reserve Bank
• Completion of annual statutory financial statements
• Preparing and managing budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (i.e. procurement, petty cash etc.)
• Preparation and review of Group Budgets, Forecasts and Cash Flow Forecasts
• Assist external auditors with the entire audit and manage entire audit process from planning to signing of the group financial statement
• Assist with BEE verification audit where necessary
• Ensure that complex accounting transactions are properly recorded in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure compliance to group policies & procedures
• Assist with any other adhoc financial assistance
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BComm)
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) of South Africa
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the construction, engineering, or related industry
• Conversant in JDE and Hyperion would be advantageous
• Detailed knowledge of consolidations, drafting of annual financial statements and completion of tax calculations and tax returns
• Detailed IFRS knowledge
