About the Role
A leading and fast-growing hospitality group is seeking a highly experienced Head of Creditors to take full ownership of the accounts payable function across multiple properties. This senior leadership role requires managing the end-to-end creditors function, ensuring accurate financial processing, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and supporting effective cash flow management in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounts payable function across multiple sites
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices
- Review and approve reconciliations and payment runs
- Monitor outstanding balances and resolve discrepancies
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the creditors team
- Manage workload allocation and ensure deadlines are met
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Handle escalations and queries efficiently
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues
- Financial Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Identify and mitigate risks within the creditors function
- Support audit processes and provide required documentation
- Cash Flow & Reporting: Manage payment cycles aligned with cash flow requirements
- Prepare and review creditors ageing reports
- Provide insights and reporting to senior management
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
- Drive system enhancements and automation initiatives
Requirements
- Completed BCom / Diploma in Finance
- 7 – 10 years experience in accounts payable/creditors
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
