Johannesburg: Junior Accountant – Mining – JHB posted by Hire Resolve

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join a prominent mining company based in Johannesburg. This role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain valuable experience in the mining sector while working in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports specific to the mining sector
• Support the accounts payable and receivable processes
• Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with payroll administration
• Perform general ledger entries and ensure accuracy in financial data
• Help with the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Collaborate with the finance team on month-end and year-end close procedures
• Participate in various ad-hoc accounting projects as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Preferable completed articles at a reputable auditing firm
• 6 – 8 years of accounting experience, preferably in the mining or related sector
• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial accounting software
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and professionalism
