About the Role

As a Magnetic Particle Inspector (MPI) at Cre8work!, you will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing on components, welds, and structures to identify surface and near-surface defects. You will work closely with engineers, quality personnel, and supervisors to ensure that products meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) on components, welds, and structures to identify surface and near-surface defects.
  • Conduct visual inspections before and after MPI testing.
  • Prepare test surfaces by cleaning and removing contaminants.
  • Apply magnetic fields and inspection media according to approved procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and record defects such as cracks, seams, laps, and inclusions.
  • Interpret inspection results and determine compliance with quality standards.
  • Compile and maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation.
  • Ensure all inspections are carried out in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and verify MPI equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements before inspections.
  • Communicate inspection findings to supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel.
  • Assist with investigations of non-conforming products and quality issues.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures while conducting inspections.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance activities throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and inspection.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in Magnetic Particle Inspection or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and codes (e.g. AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Ability to interpret inspection results and determine compliance with quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Physical ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. mechanical engineering, materials science).
