As a Senior NOC Engineer, you will operate at a high technical level within the network operations centre. You will lead escalations, support infrastructure stability, and work closely with cross functional teams to ensure optimal network performance. This role offers exposure to advanced networking concepts and the opportunity to influence system improvements and operational efficiency. If you enjoy working in a hands on environment where problem solving and proactive monitoring are essential, this role will provide both challenge and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and respond to outages or service degradation
- Handle complex escalations and provide advanced technical support
- Analyse recurring issues and implement improvements to prevent future disruptions
- Manage network configurations including routing, addressing, and connectivity
- Support capacity planning and optimise network performance across nodes
- Collaborate with field teams and engineers to resolve infrastructure issues
- Maintain accurate system documentation and track changes
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
Job Experience and Skills Required
- Relevant IT or networking qualification
- Industry certification such as CCNP or equivalent
- 3 to 4 years within a network operations or similar environment
- Strong experience working with wireless or ISP networks
- Proven ability to manage escalations and troubleshoot complex issues
- Experience working with network monitoring tools and systems
- Exposure to routing protocols and network design principles
- Strong understanding of IP networking and network architecture
- Experience with routing protocols and VLAN environments
- Ability to diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Knowledge of wireless technologies and network capacity management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work shifts in an onsite operational environment
