About the Role
As a Sales Engineer in our Johannesburg branch, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing customer relationships to drive service sales growth, improve operational efficiency, and provide technical support for our clients’ products. You will work closely with internal divisions and customers to ensure timely deliveries and effective communication, while continuously seeking opportunities to expand the customer base and enhance service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Call in existing customers while making every effort to expand the customer base and markets.
- Stay up to date with market trends, competition, new projects, and tenders.
- Call on contractors, end-users, and municipalities.
- Follow up weekly on leads.
- Perform onsite fault finding and problem solving on pumps and systems.
- Compile SAP quotation for pumps and spares and process orders on SAP.
- Follow through on orders from loading on the system to the payment stage.
- Liaise with factory and production division when orders are in the system.
- Load and update projects on in-house system weekly, including customer contracts and company files.
- Maintain protocol in handling claims and assist fellow branch staff.
- Meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Increase the Clients market share and seek new opportunities for growth.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license. 3 to 5 years experience in a professional sales role within a service environment (this is mandatory). Strong component identification skills (pumps). Computer literate including proficiency in MS Office 365, SAP, and Webshop. Foundational knowledge of sales and marketing principles. Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Grade 12 (or equivalent) or National Diploma (N6 / T3) or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
