About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg South. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end monthly and annual financial reporting cycle
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines
- Ensure the general ledger is fully reconciled to the balance sheet each month
- Process and oversee all supplier invoices with accuracy and timeliness
- Process customer invoicing and ensure integrity of revenue records
- Maintain full responsibility for the annual audit file and audit readiness
- Liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth, efficient audit process
- Prepare and review monthly creditor reconciliations with no outstanding reconciling items
- Review monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
- Review all payments prior to approval to ensure validity and correctness
- Ensure all payments are released timeously and in line with controls
- Take full responsibility of all tax submissions and payments across the business
- Maintain continuous tax and regulatory compliance
- Drive compliance across all financial policies and procedures
- Document, standardise, and improve financial processes while ensuring all supporting documentation is properly filed and uploaded
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Valid SA driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
Qualifications
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
SAIPA or SAIBA registered
Experience in SAGE or ZERO
