About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our client’s mining team as Foreman. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mining site, ensuring the safety of all workers, and maximizing the efficiency of mining operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mining staff, including equipment operators, miners, and laborers
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols at all times
- Monitor mining operations to ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met
- Work closely with mining engineers and geologists to develop mining plans and strategies
- Conduct regular inspections of mining equipment and infrastructure to identify and address issues
- Train and mentor mining staff to ensure high levels of skill and performance
- Maintain accurate records of production, equipment maintenance, and personnel attendance
- Communicate regularly with Mine Manager and other key stakeholders to provide updates on mining operations
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Previous experience with heavy mobile equipment in open cast mining operations
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, safety protocols, and industry regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Previous experience with heavy mobile equipment in open cast mining operations
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, safety protocols, and industry regulations
