A leading South African civil engineering and structural steel construction company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatch Supervisor to oversee their yard and warehouse dispatch operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all construction materials, structural steel components, and equipment are accurately processed, tracked, and dispatched efficiently to various project sites to meet strict construction timelines. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate daily dispatch operations, ensuring an optimal workflow for civil and structural steel project materials. Supervise and guide the dispatch team, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety (SHEQ), and site operational standards. Verify delivery documentation, delivery notes, and loading sheets against physical stock and fabricated components before dispatch. Plan and optimize transport scheduling, vehicle loading configurations, and logistics coordination for site deliveries. Liaise with transport providers, heavy vehicle drivers, and project managers to resolve distribution and delivery queries promptly. Monitor inventory levels within the storage and dispatch yards, minimizing stock discrepancies or component damages. Generate regular dispatch reports and track key logistics performance indicators. Requirements Grade 12 / Matric certificate; a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Construction/Fleet Management is highly advantageous. 5 years of experience in a dispatch, yard, or logistics supervisory role within the construction, structural steel, or engineering sectors. Proven experience managing a dispatch team and coordinating specialized or heavy vehicle transport. Strong proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel). Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment built around project deadlines.
