About the Role
We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our client based in Mobeni, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function and must have a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
- Processing and reconciliation of debtors and creditors
- Bank and cashbook reconciliations
- Capturing and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with month-end and year-end processes
- Handling invoices, payments, and statements
- Ensuring compliance with basic accounting standards
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders where required
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Mathematics & Accounting will be an added advantage)
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including:
- Debits and credits
- Trial balance & General ledger
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Solid numerical and analytical skills
- High level of integrity and reliability
- Strong organisational skills
- Good communication skills
