About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader with a strong background in wash bay operations to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and supervising staff, ensuring high-quality cleaning standards, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Supervision: Lead and supervise washbay staff during shifts.
- Task Allocation and Monitoring: Allocate daily tasks and monitor workflow to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on vehicles before they leave the wash bay to ensure they meet required cleaning standards.
- Staff Management: Train new employees on washing procedures, safety, and equipment use; motivate and manage team performance; handle minor disciplinary matters.
- Shift Management: Prepare shift rosters and manage attendance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure wash bay equipment is functioning correctly and report breakdowns and maintenance requirements promptly.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric preferred
- Valid driver’s licence
- Previous experience in a wash bay, fleet, transport, logistics, depot, or vehicle cleaning environment
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience
- Knowledge of truck, trailer, vehicle, and equipment cleaning standards
