About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in Overberg, responsible for maintaining and repairing agricultural equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience working with tractor engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and brakes, as well as proficiency in electronic diagnostic tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks)
- Conduct major repairs on tractor engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and brakes
- Use electronic diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
- Troubleshoot and repair in the field (on-farm) to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and hours spent on job cards
- Adhere to workshop safety standards and ensure that machinery operates according to safety regulations
Requirements
- 2-5 years of proven experience in agricultural equipment or heavy machinery
- Proficiency in hydraulic and electrical systems
- Familiarity with computer-based diagnostic systems
Qualifications
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Artisan with a passed Trade Test
