About the Role
The Deputy General Manager position at Craven Cottage CC in Plettenberg Bay offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced hospitality professional to support the General Manager in the overall operation of the hotel. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing FOH and BOH teams, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining high standards of guest service and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage FOH and BOH teams, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Maintain high standards of guest service and satisfaction
- Handle guest queries, complaints and service recovery professionally
- Oversee staff scheduling, performance and daily supervision
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and operational standards
- Monitor operational efficiency, stock control and cost management
- Assist with training, development and team motivation
- Step in to manage the hotel in the absence of the General Manager
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hotel supervisory or management role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved in all areas of the business
- Energetic, positive and solution-driven mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy hospitality environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Natural leader who leads from the front (not from behind a desk)
- Able to balance guest experience with operational efficiency
- Team player who supports and motivates staff across all departments
