About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our Manufacturing – Factory team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting electrical and mechanical inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on engineering equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct both electrical and mechanical inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on engineering equipment
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment failure and perform timely repairs
  • Minimize equipment downtime and reduce damage through swift fault rectification
  • Apply engineering best practices and ensure all equipment meets operational requirements
  • Conduct routine and “first-off” inspections on machinery to detect faults or excessive wear
  • Liaise with production teams to proactively identify and resolve process-related issues
  • Execute preventative maintenance and coordinate availability of necessary parts
  • Ensure all manufactured products meet quality standards and compile relevant reports

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
  • Trade Test: Millwright (NQF Level 5)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical, electrical, and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, ERP systems)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Millwright to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and machinery. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and execute repair plans swiftly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure optimal equipment performance by applying sound technical and engineering practices.
  • Conduct inspections during process changes to determine equipment status.
  • Perform routine checks to identify wear and potential failures, and carry out corrective maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with Production to proactively identify and resolve equipment or process-related issues.
  • Ensure product quality standards are maintained through periodic checks.
  • Coordinate availability of parts to support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports of all maintenance work performed.
  • Operate within established procedures to ensure integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Report risks or areas of concern within scope of responsibility.
  • Promote and uphold adherence to company and legal standards to avoid unnecessary costs or non-compliance.
  • Support efficient use of resources to control costs.
  • Monitor and report deviations from budget to management.
  • Implement practices to minimize waste and manage expenditures effectively.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4)
  • Trade Test: Millwright (NQF 5)
