About the Role

Phakisa Holdings is seeking a skilled Double Coded Welder to join our team in Atlas Boksburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding on cast components within a foundry environment, adhering to strict quality standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on castings using approved welding procedures and techniques
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
  • Carry out repairs and fabrication on cast iron and steel components
  • Ensure all welding work meets quality and inspection standards
  • Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times
  • Work closely with quality control and production teams to meet deadlines
  • Identify and report defects, faults, or non-conformances

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Valid Double Coding Welding Certification (e.g. SMAW, GTAW, or FCAW)
  • Proven experience in a casting or foundry environment
  • Ability to weld various materials including cast iron and steel
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures and quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
