About the Role

The Western Cape-based Cross-Border Logistics Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring seamless cross-border logistics operations for Staff Focus. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong understanding of customs processes, clearing procedures, and documentation to manage shipments end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of cross-border logistics operations from supplier to end customer
  • Coordinate road freight for bulk commodities
  • Plan and manage cross-border shipments between South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, etc.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all export and import documentation (commercial invoices, SAD forms, permits, etc.)
  • Liaise with clearing agents, transporters, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth border clearance
  • Monitor shipments in real-time and proactively manage delays or disruptions
  • Manage warehousing, storage, and stock movement where required
  • Ensure compliance with all cross-border, customs, and regulatory requirements
  • Continuously optimise transport routes and logistics costs to protect trading margins
  • Work closely with traders and clients to align delivery timelines and expectations
  • Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively to avoid financial or reputational impact
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with transporters, clearing agents, and suppliers

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years experience in logistics, supply chain, or transport coordination
  • Proven experience managing cross-border shipments (essential)
  • Strong understanding of customs processes, clearing procedures, and documentation
  • Experience within agricultural commodities, bulk goods, or a trading environment (advantageous)
