Human Resources Management
Full HR function across
Wine production (cellar & vineyard)
Events department
Tasting room
À la carte restaurant
Administration & finance team
Guest house and accommodation
Assisting line managers with recruitment and onboarding of staff
Drafting and maintaining employment contracts
Development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR company policies and procedures
Handling grievances, disciplinary processes, and dismissals
Advising line managers on labour matters in line with the Labour Relations Act
Maintaining employee records and HR systems
Payroll & Wages Administration
Processing monthly salaries and bi-weekly wages
Managing input from biometric time and attendance system
Verifying hours worked, overtime, leave, and deductions
Ensuring accuracy of:
Pro-rata payments
Overtime calculations
Leave pay
Managing AODs (Acknowledgement of Debt) and payroll deductions
Submitting accurate payroll information timeously
Liaising with finance department and payroll providers
Health & Safety Management
Full responsibility for Occupational Health & Safety compliance
Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Implementing and maintaining safety policies and procedures
Conducting risk assessments across:
Cellar operations
Events and restaurant
General farm operations
Guest house
Managing safety files and compliance documentation
Coordinating safety training and inductions
Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
Ensuring PPE compliance
Industrial Relations (IR)
Managing disciplinary hearings and documentation
Representing the company at the CCMA if required
Ensuring fair and legally compliant processes
Supporting management in handling staff issues
Time & Attendance Management
Managing and maintaining biometric clocking system
Monitoring absenteeism, late coming, and overtime trends
Reporting on labour costs and staff productivity
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources / Industrial Psychology or similar
3–5 years HR experience (hospitality, agriculture or similar environment advantageous)
Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
Experience with payroll processing and time & attendance systems
Health & Safety qualification (advantageous)
Key Skills
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Attention to detail (especially payroll)
Ability to deal with staff across all levels
Conflict resolution and disciplinary handling
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Additional Requirements
Must be comfortable working in a hands-on farm environment
Ability to work across multiple departments with different needs
Ability to work independently
Own transport
