About the Role

Phakisa Holdings is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team in Sasolburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with client Service Level Agreements (SLAs), applicable labour legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies and procedures across allocated client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and administering compliance with client SLAs, statutory requirements, and company policies across allocated sites.
  • Ensuring TES employees are compliant prior to placement and throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Conducting routine HR and compliance audits and maintaining non-compliance logs.
  • Identifying non-compliance, issuing NCRs, and following up on corrective actions with operations and HR.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of take-on documentation and submission of VIP uploads in line with SOPs.
  • Maintaining employee records and systems in compliance with POPIA and company standards.
  • Ensuring required background checks, licence validations, visas, and statutory verifications are completed and monitored.
  • Tracking renewals (medicals, inductions, licences, visas) and generating weekly and monthly compliance reports.
  • Submitting termination and employee movement reports and ensuring system updates are completed.
  • Providing compliance support to HR, operations, payroll, and management.
  • Assisting with statutory reporting, including Employment Equity and Skills Development.
  • Participating in compliance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in HR, Labour Relations, Compliance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a compliance, HR administration, or labour-related role.
  • Working knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with audits, document management, and compliance reporting.
  • Proficiency in HR and payroll systems (VIP or similar advantageous).
  • Computer literacy with strong administrative capability.
