Job Description

This person will manage plant operations and resources (production and maintenance) to achieve production targets while ensuring optimal product quality, safety, and efficiency. Minimum Requirements Matric (Grade 12) Certificate in Technical or Production-related field (NQF 5) Diploma in Technical/Production field (NQF 6) advantageous Millwright / Fitter & Turner Trade Test (NQF 5) advantageous First Line Management Certificate (FLMP) advantageous CCS Supervisory Development Programme advantageous Up to 5 years in Production/Maintenance within manufacturing 12 years supervisory experience Responsibilities: Achieve production targets through effective resource utilisation Ensure production efficiency, quality, and adherence to schedules Maintain accurate production records and documentation Collaborate with internal departments to ensure product quality Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance activities Coordinate first-line maintenance to minimise downtime Raise and approve job cards and ensure compliance with work permits Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to housekeeping standards Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations Identify and report risks within the department Maintain compliance with internal controls and procedures Manage team performance and conduct appraisals Drive training, development, and performance improvement Handle employee relations matters effectively Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Represent the business in relevant meetings Resolve operational issues with a solution-driven approach Assist with budgeting processes Monitor and control departmental expenditure Identify cost-saving opportunities Required Skills & Knowledge Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, ERP systems) Strong knowledge of production and maintenance processes Understanding of manufacturing compliance and safety standards Strong communication (written and verbal) Problem-solving and analytical thinking Strong planning and organisational skills Leadership and supervisory ability Resilience and ability to work under pressure Conflict management Customer-focused mindset To Apply: Submit your updated CV, Matric & Tertiary qualifications, and head & shoulder photo.
