About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to manage plant operations and resources in our Port Elizabeth facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets while ensuring optimal product quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve production targets through effective resource utilisation
- Ensure production efficiency, quality, and adherence to schedules
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure product quality
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance activities
- Coordinate first-line maintenance to minimise downtime
- Raise and approve job cards and ensure compliance with work permits
- Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to housekeeping standards
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Identify and report risks within the department
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and procedures
- Manage team performance and conduct appraisals
- Drive training, development, and performance improvement
- Handle employee relations matters effectively
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Represent the business in relevant meetings
- Resolve operational issues with a solution-driven approach
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) Certificate
- Diploma in Technical or Production-related field (NQF 6)
- Millwright / Fitter & Turner Trade Test (NQF 5) – advantageous
- First Line Management Certificate (FLMP) – advantageous
- CCS Supervisory Development Programme – advantageous
- Up to 5 years in Production/Maintenance within manufacturing
